Tonya Foster Spotlight WOD
I first started Crossfit when we made the move to Hurricane, November 2013. Crossfit for me is more than just working out to feel and look better. I love the people that I have met and have become such good friends with. Crossfit made the move to a new town easier, because I was able to meet so many new people and become a part of a community.
I also love that feeling of accomplishment I have after any WOD. Taking on the challenge of finishing and being able to see myself grow both physically and mentally.
In Crossfit I feel you have to stay positive and throw out any negativity. We all start somewhere and progress forward, what matters is that you are there and wanting to improve. I used a green band on pull-ups when I 1st started and now it’s one of my favorite movements! Always keep coming because it does get easier, your body and mind will progress and get better every time. And that feeling after you finish a tough WOD is amazing.
It truly is fun for me to show up to the box. I look forward to working hard and pushing my limits, I’m so much stronger than I realized not just physically but mentally, I keep learning and growing.
Some of my favorite movements in Crossfit would have to be overhead squats, pull-ups, bar muscle ups and rope climbs. All things that I have had to work hard at and take different steps to achieve. I love crossfit and all the people I have met through crossfit.
