I spent the better half of 7 years with numerous health issues that kept me in an “I can’t” frame of mind. My husband would bug me to just come to Josh’s garage, and when it opened the box. I would always tell him “there is no way I am going to try Crossfit, that is crazy”. At 250 lbs I walked in that door terrified and convinced I was going to die, I sobbed through my first WOD ( that wouldn’t be the last time either), couldn’t even do black band pullups without shaking and suffered more soreness after 2 days then I did in labor . I soon found that this place wouldn’t just show me how to workout, it would give me a whole new life. Through my time here I have gained way more than I have lost.. I have lost weight, inches, blood, sweat and tears but I have gained confidence, selfesteem, family/friends, improvement in my kidney function, the all around things I can now physically do, plus life and time with my family. Who knew I would become such a CF junkie I have never been around people more motivating and encouraging as the ones at this box. I am thankful for such awesome trainers that drive me to do more than I thought I could, that help me overcome my fears and failures, and for the time they take out of their lives to make mine better. I love the laughter that I hear even through the worst of the WODs Everyday is a highlight for me because I get to be here and do even the WOD’s I hate i.e. thrusters, wall balls, running… My ideal WOD would include OHS/or snatches, sit ups, Evil wheels, and wall walks, somewhere in there I’d love to see more sled pushing ~Veronica Matautia
